Sometimes The Service Just Isn’t Up To Par…

I can totally identify with this photo — I have left a few places after 30-45 minutes of getting no attention at all. Although I’ve never abused the condiments to make a statement!

I Wouldn’t Usually Post A Joke, But…

An 80-year old man was having his annual check-up and the doctor asked him how he was feeling. “I’ve never been better!” he boasted. “I’ve got an eighteen year old bride who’s pregnant and having my child! What do you think about that?”

The doctor considered this for a moment, then said, “Let me tell you a story. I knew a guy who was an avid hunter. He never missed a season. But one day, he went out in a bit of a hurry, and he accidentally grabbed his umbrella instead of his gun.” The doctor continued, “So he was in the woods, and suddenly a grizzly bear appeared in front of him! He raised up his umbrella, pointed it at the bear and squeezed the handle. And do you know what happened?” the doctor queried. Dumbfounded, the old man replied, “No.” The doctor continued, “The bear dropped dead in front of him!” “That’s impossible!” exclaimed the old man. “Someone else must have shot that bear.”

“That’s kind of what I’m getting at,” replied the doctor.

Here’s To the Season

I saw this in a cool Suzuki board the other day… given that I own one, I’ve done Spring and Fall, gonna try out Summer, but have no plans for any Winter… unless I cart it to a mud track.

Nuclear Power For The Masses

Gotta hand it to Toshiba, they’re developing a micro nuclear reactor for use in neighborhoods or even individual apartment buildings. The concept is great: use a clean(er) energy source, make it a closed system and use the latest technologies in nuclear safety to create a virtually maintenance-free, tiny nuclear power plant that you can use for 40 years.

I’m thinking, at 20 feet by 6 feet, that’s getting small enough to consider powering larger vehicles…. nuclear-powered trains and tractor-trailers anyone? Can’t wait for my 4×4 to have a nuclear power plant engine swap!

What am I doing wrong?

Okay, I’m tired of beating around the bush. I’m a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I’m articulate and classy. I’m not from New York. I’m looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City , so I don’t think I’m overreaching at all.

Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 100 - 150. But that’s where I seem to hit a roadblock. 150,000 won’t get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she’s not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level?

Next Stop: Tokyo. ETA: 2 Hours???

scramjet_485.jpg

It’s about time those 12-hour flights came to an end. With the latest developments in hypersonic scramjet technology, it looks like it’s possible. This isn’t flash-in-the-pan stuff either, it’s been worked on for over 40 years, and despite several false starts, it looks like workable designs are finally getting close.
