Talk about a nice beach….

Anyone who lives in Costa Rica would be surprised to find out that this is downtown Puntarenas. Yes, that dirty smelly town with a beach you don’t want to swim in was a really nice spot back in the mid 20th century. Back then you could even hop on a train from downtown San Jose to downtown Puntarenas. Apparently it was the popular thing to do:

Watch your step when you leave your apartment in Costa Rica!

Seriously, I thought iguanas were only around the coast, but they seem to travel up and down the rivers in the Central Valley too. Next time I see it I’ll need to call INBioparque so they can add it to their collection!
